Qualification:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. with Physics & Computer Programming), Masters Degree in Marketing Management (M.M.M.) from NMIMS–then affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management.
Brief Profile:
A dynamic professional with expertise spanning across industry, research, academic, and administrative domains with a flair for modern methodologies while adhering to quality standards. An esteemed academician having the distinction of being associated with important academic bodies, committees, and cells of the University of Mumbai as well as professional associations. Before joining Sheila Raheja School of Business Management & Research, Dr. Purohit served few renowned management institutes as a director. His stint with MCX, India’s no.1 commodity exchange, facilitated him writing research articles and reports on commodities and other economic issues. He was part of the study team that executed the United Nation’s [UNCTAD] funded project. He has successfully managed packaging solutions to the varied needs of multinational clients, such as Reliance Industries, Telco, M&M, Bayer, Telco, Hoechst, Aventis, Raychem, Blue Star, and ITC among others. Dr. Purohit played an instrumental role in conducting corporate interactions of students with industry icons like Mr. Ratan Tata, Mr. Keshub Mahindra, Dr. Anji Reddy, Mr. Sajjan Jindal and Dr. Verghese Kurian among many notable dignitaries.

Successfully completed One-Week online National Faculty Development Program on “Outcome Based Education: Paradigm Shift in higher Education” jointly organised by St. Francis Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai and Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre, SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi under the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) of Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Dr. Purohit’s core competency lies in his tremendous organisational skills, which are exemplified by the various events that he has organized in terms of training programmes, including an international training programme, and seminars. He is often invited in a capacity of Key-note Speaker, Guest of Honour, Guest Speaker at various conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.
Dr. Purohit is also a former member of Board of Colleges and University Development (B.C.U.D.) in the University of Mumbai. He was a Member of Ad-hoc Board of Studies in Management and has contributed significantly towards the syllabus revision of MMS Program in the area of Marketing. He has successfully guided Ph.D. students in the subject of Management Studies and an External Examiner/ Referee, M.Phil./Ph.D. at renowned B Schools.
Recognizing his contribution to the field of academics, “Outstanding Contribution to Education” award was conferred upon Dr. Purohit at 23rd BSA (Business School Affaire) & Dewang Mehta National Education Award on November 28, 2015. He is also a recipient of “Best Director of the Year” 2018 award by Computer Society of India.
