International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements and women’s equality.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. H.J. Bhasin, Director, SRBS. The coordination was done by Prof. Sonali Shiralkar, Prof. Darshana Murkibhavi, and Prof.Deepa Manoj, along with our SRBS students, Mr. Yash Mistry, Ms. Louan Rodrigues, and many others in coordination with WDC and IIC. Some students had made wonderful Rangolis on the esteemed theme of Women’s Day. Session started with lamp lightening ceremony. Felicitation of guests was done by Director Dr. H.J. Bhasin. Wonderful Audio Visual (AV) were presented by students to introduce and highlight journey of our guest  speakers.

IPS Tejaswi Satpute and Sangeeta Punekar, co-founder of the Advait Foundation and a social worker, were the guests for the event. Tejaswi madam put light on equality and the ability to perform duties with strength; self-assurance, decision-making skills, and knowledge were admirable. She put light on the Tri Sutri of willingness, efforts, and consistency and believes that “Don’t Keep Anything For Options…!” Her work in “Operation Parivartan” speaks a lot about the title conferred on her “Lady Singham of Solapur”.

Sangeeta Punekar madam enriched the gathering with her knowledge on laws and rights for women in India. She created awareness among the students regarding the same. Her enriching words made the audience reflect on their lives. It was indeed a noble event organized by the Institute, which served the aim of empowering women and making them feel appreciated and valued. SRBS Students entertained the gathering with their singing and dancing skills.

The programme was well appreciated by all the students and members of the audience.
