Our roots in the field of Education trace back to 1952 with the foundation of “The Bombay Suburban Art and Craft Education Society”. The Society received its Certificate of Registration under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 on 27th April 1959, under the aegis of which the college Sheila Raheja School of Business Management and Research is managed and operated.
The Bombay Suburban Art & Craft Education Society aims to provide meaningful and relevant education rooted in universal religious philosophies of the world and immersed in rich Indian heritage and culture. At the same time, in the ever-changing business world, it strives to emphasise both the liberal and professional aspects of higher education by providing educational opportunities to all students to discover and disseminate knowledge in order to serve communities around the world.
The purpose of the foundation is in creating knowledge and shaping the character of our future generations by challenging them to create new ways of thinking, to reach out and take up tasks beyond their comfort zone and to generate a dynamic paradigm that will shape the future of the world.
The Bombay Suburban Art & Craft Education Society, the parent trust, started 5- year full time professional
course Government Diploma in Architecture in 1953 under the recognition of Director of Technical Education-
Maharashtra State, which later got recognition from Council of Architecture (Constituted under the act of
parliament 1973)
The L. S. Raheja School of Architecture got affiliation from University of Mumbai in 2007 and started offering
non-aided 5 years Full time B. Arch Degree course in Architecture approved by the Government of Maharashtra
and recognized by the Council of Architecture.

The Bombay Suburban Art & Craft Education Society started Sheila Raheja School of Business Management &
Research (SRBS) which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai , approved by All India Council of Technical
Education (AICTE) & Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). It is a NAAC Accredited B-School located in the
heart of Mumbai, close to the business hub, Bandra Kurla Complex. The philosophy of the founders is to provide
"Education with Compassion".

With this natural progression of events, the Society takes pride to launch the Sheila Raheja
Institute of Hotel Management. This Institute is our modest contribution and latest initiative for
creating solid career professionals in the up-and-coming hospitality sector. Sheila Raheja Institute
of Hotel Management has been established to facilitate the transition from Hospitality Academics to
successful careers in Hospitality. Hospitality, we believe, has new connotations in the modern
world. It is an emerging industry with a bright future and part of the sunshine sector.
Like always, we love to be at the vanguard of action and with a preparedness expected of the leaders
in the industry. For the interested, the college is currently offering the B.Sc.(Hospitality Studies) programme creating
professionals for all the core operational departments of the Hospitality Industry and the
B.A.(Culinary Arts) programme empowering potential for the Culinary Department. Both these
Degree programmes are affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
