Employability Skills Training Programme for Female Students under Mahindra & Mahindra’s CSR initiative

Mahindra Pride Classroom is a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Livelihood programme of the Mahindra and Mahindra group and is fully implemented by Naandi Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust incorporated under the Indian Trusts Act, having its registered office in Hyderabad.
Mahindra Pride Classroom’s vision is “To mainstream socially and economically disadvantaged youth, through the process of skill-development training, so as to make them employable in the various sector”.
The team strongly believes that apart from academic education, Skill Development is also required for students when they step out into the professional world. It is imperative for young adults to be equipped with essential life skills and soft skills. While certain skills may be acquired through everyday experience at home, Classroom or College, they are not sufficient to adequately equip the youth in today’s complex society.
The Mahindra Pride Classroom aims to help students to:
• Develop an identity and improve their self-esteem.
• Manage emotions and overcome obstacles.
• Build relationships and polish their interpersonal skills.
• Enhance and improve employability skills.
• Improve personal and professional effectiveness.
The life skills component of the training module has helped to transform the learners into confident, determined, goal-oriented youth – a personality shift essential for them to pursue successful careers in the sectors of their choice.

It has helped improve students’ understanding of the world and their role and responsibility towards it. It has also enabled them in finding ways to cope with the challenges that life throws at them. These young adults, who underwent our training, firmly believe that they will be able to live a more productive and fulfilling life.

Career Guidance using Psychometric test partnered with Acadspace

Sheila Raheja School of Business Management and Research (SRBS) has partnered with Acadspace to enhance career wellness for students through psychometric testing. This initiative aims to provide valuable insights into students’ strengths, preferences, and areas for development, guiding them in making informed career decisions.
The primary objectives of the psychometric tests are:
• Self-Discovery: To help students understand their own cognitive abilities, personality traits, and vocational interests.
• Career Guidance: To align students’ strengths and interests with potential career paths.
• Personal Development: To identify areas for improvement and development in both personal and professional aspects.

Career Guidance on Financial Wellness Enhancement Session by Dr. Suneel Sharma

SRBS in collaboration with Excellence Global skills organized a session on Career Guidance on Financial wellness Enhancement. The session was conducted by SEBI & AMFI approved trainers. The trainer briefed the students on the various basic aspects of financial wellness and other related areas.
Career guidance focused on financial wellness aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances effectively and make informed career decisions. This guidance helps students understand how their career choices can impact their financial stability and long-term financial health.
The main objectives of the Financial Wellness Enhancement Program are:
• Financial Literacy: To educate students on key financial concepts, including budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management.
• Practical Skills: To provide practical tools and strategies for effective personal financial management.
• Long-Term Planning: To help students develop financial plans and goals for their post-graduate lives.

Interactive Masterclass by Mr Sasha Mirchandani

Sheila Gopal Raheja Foundation and Bombay Suburban Art & Craft Education Society organized an Interactive Masterclass by Mr Sasha Mirchandani for the students and faculty members of LSRSoA, SRIHM and SRBS. Mr. Sasha Mirchandani, Director and founder of Kae Capital and co- founder of Mumbai Angels gave an insight into financial literacy his journey as an Angel Investor. Following are few of the key points that he shared Mr. Sasha Mirchandani spoke about his life’s journey which was very inspiring.

• Have the grit determination to stick to your beliefs.
• To have patience to see your idea through.
• Do not be afraid to fail, but fail quickly if you have to and move on to the next idea.
• Everyone fails on an average one success after four to five failures.
• Be humble think about yourself but just that little less.

A Session on Design Thinking & Behavioural Science

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Sheila Raheja School of Business Management and Research organized a Session on Design Thinking and Behavioural Science on 19th March 2024.

The session was organized to equip students with the necessary knowledge and strategies to approach complex problems, generate innovative ideas, and design effective solutions. The speaker for the session was Mr. Mandeep Singh Toor, design Thinker at Tinkerlabs. He explained to the participants the importance of developing critical thinking abilities, which include the capacity to analyze problems, identify underlying assumptions, and evaluate evidence.

The Master class session on the Consumer Protection Act

SRBS conducted a session on Consumer Protection Act on 21st March 2024. The guest speake of the session was Mrs. Sharmila Ranade. The session provided participants with an in-depth understanding of consumer rights, responsibilities, and legal recourse under the framework of consumer protection legislation. The session aimed to empower participants with knowledge and strategies to advocate for their rights as consumers and navigate the complexities of consumer disputes.
Participants gained comprehensive insights into their rights as consumers, including the right to safety, information, choice, and redressal. The session elucidated the importance of these rights in safeguarding consumer interests and promoting fair trade practices. A detailed overview of the Consumer Protection Act and related regulations was provided, outlining the rights and obligations of consumers and businesses. Participants gained clarity on the legal mechanisms available for resolving consumer disputes, including avenues for seeking compensation, refunds, and grievance redressal.
The master class session on the Consumer Protection Act was a valuable forum for fostering awareness, advocacy, and empowerment among consumers and stakeholders. Participants emerged with a deeper understanding of their rights and responsibilities, as well as the legal mechanisms available for seeking redressal in case of consumer grievances. The Institution Innovation Council of Sheila Raheja School of Business Management and Research organized a MasterClass Session on Accelerators/ Incubation – Early Stage Entrepreneurs.
The speaker of the session was Mr. Chintan Oza, Founder, Anantam Ecosystems. He explained the students how incubation cells provide resources like funding, mentorship, and networking to help startups grow He briefed the students on exploring opportunities for early stage entrepreneurs. He also offered insights into the entrepreneurial ecosystems while also offering a unique and insightful opportunity for students to gain inspiration to become accomplished entrepreneurs.

MasterClass Session on Lean Start Up & Minimum Viable Product/ Business

The Institution Innovation Council of Sheila Raheja School of Business Management and Research organized a MasterClass Session on Lean Startup & Minimum Viable Product/ Business.
The speaker of the session was Mr. Ravi Jeswani, Alumni of IIM Ahmedabad. He briefed the students on lean startup and minimum viable products. He explained that Lean Startup is a methodology designed for developing businesses and products quickly and efficiently. He also emphasized that Minimum Viable Product is a key concept within the Lean Startup framework
He gave examples of WhatsApp, DropBox and other companies while explaining to them the concept of Lean Startups.

He also shared insights into the current VC landscape, highlighting emerging trends and sectors that are attracting significant investment.
