Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted in accordance with AICTE notification dated May 25, 2012 to provide a transparent and effective mechanism for addressing grievances of students and staff. Further, as per the provisions outlined in the All India Councils for Technical Education (Redressal of Grievance of Students) Regulations, 2019, our institute has implemented the prescribed guidelines to ensure timely and fair redressal of grievances.

As per the directions of the University of Mumbai and in compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention , Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, SRBS has constituted an Internal Complaints Commiittee to handle complaints related to sexual harassment at B-School as under:

Procedure for investigation of complaints if any, regarding sexual harassment at the Campus.

Any women employee or female student of the B-School has the right to lodge a written complaint to the Internal Complaints Committee regarding sexual harassment against any male student, employee or any other person connected with the colloege / institute administration or authorities.

  • A Complaint Register will be maintained by the Internal Complaint Committee to register Complaints received from any female Employee/ Student.
  • Complaint has to be given, in writing, and should be signed by the Complainant within the period of three months from the date of incident and incase of series of incidents, within a period of three months from the date of last incident
  • Where the aggrieved woman is unable to file a complaint on account of her physical or mental incapacity or death or otherwise, her legal heir or such other person as prescribed may make a complaint on her behalf.
  • The Internal Complaint Committee before initiating an enquiry and at the request of aggrieved woman shall take steps to settle the matter between her and the respondent through conciliation. Provided no monetary settlement shall be made as basis of conciliation.
  • Where the settlement has been arrived, the Internal Complaint Committee shall record the settlement so arrived and forward the same to the employer to take action as specified in recommendation.
  • The Internal Complaint Committee shall provide the copies of the said settlement as recorded to the aggrieved woman and the respondent.
  • Where the settlement is arrived no further enquiry shall be conducted by the Internal Complaint Committee.
  • Where the settlement has not been arrived, the Internal Complaint Committee shall initiate the enquiry and provide the report of its findings within period of 10 days from the date of completion of enquiry.
  • If the Internal Complaint Committee arrives at conclusion that the allegation against the respondent has not been proved, it shall recommend the employer that no action is required to be taken.
  • If the Internal Complaint Committee arrives at conclusion that the allegation against the respondent has been proved, it shall recommend the employer to take action as mentioned in the said Act.
  • The employer shall act upon the recommendation within sixty days from the date of receipt of the recommendation.
  • Penalties & Punishments shall be applicable as per norms laid down in “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

In accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court vide SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated May 16, 2007 and in Civil Appeal Number 887 of 2009 dated May 08, 2009 Sheila Raheja School of Business Management & Research (SRBS) has formed an Anti – Ragging Committee/ Mentoring Cell/ Anti-Ragging Squad as per the AICTE Regulations 2009 of AICTE for Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Technical Institutions. As per the provision of the Act, Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is strictly prohibited.

The Anti-Ragging Committee of our B-School shall take an appropriate decision, with regard to punishment or otherwise depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging. Possible punishment for those found guilty of ragging shall be any one or any combination of the following:-

  • Cancellation of Admission.
  • Suspension from attending classes.
  • Withholding or withdrawing of scholarship, fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding results.
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival etc.
  • Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
  • Rustication from the institution for a period ranging from one to four semesters.
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
  • Collective Punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort  to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure Community pressure on the potential raggers.
